IDEX Istanbul International Dental Exhibition and Conference, organized with the support and coordination of the Turkish Dental Businessmen Association (DİŞSİAD), has opened its doors at the Istanbul Expo Center. The four-day event hosts a total of 700 participating companies, 150 of which are international. Welcoming foreign visitors from nearly 100 countries, IDEX Istanbul is expected to generate at least $500 million in foreign currency inflow to the Turkish economy.
More than 30,000 international visitors from approximately 100 countries have gathered at the IDEX International Dental Exhibition and Conference, regarded as the world’s second-largest dental meeting. Organized by DİŞSİAD, the event has opened at the Istanbul Expo Center with over 700 exhibitors and is expected to contribute at least $500 million to the economy.
The opening ceremony was attended by Öznur Çalık, Member of the Presidential Social and Youth Policies Board and Chairperson of the İVEK Board of Trustees; Okan Leblebicier, Deputy Governor of Istanbul; Erkan Uçar, Chairman of the Board of DİŞSİAD; Fatih Güler, President of the Turkish Dental Association; Ayşenur Cengiz, Board Member of the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency; and Şinasi Candan, Chairman of the Board of the State Supply Office.
TARGET: $1 BILLION IN EXPORTS
Öznur Çalık stated that the exhibition will significantly contribute to Turkey’s total exports and health tourism revenues, saying:
“At this point, I would like to thank DİŞSİAD Chairman Erkan Uçar. We are a nation that knows health begins in the mouth. Artificial intelligence plays a critical role in building sustainable healthcare. New employment opportunities will certainly emerge in this field.”
Erkan Uçar, Chairman of DİŞSİAD, said:
“Ten years ago, we set out with a dream. Today, we have become a sector with an economic volume of $1 billion, contributing to Turkey’s total exports. Our sector, which closed last year with approximately $450 million in exports, aims to reach $1 billion in exports within the next five years. We have the strength to achieve this. IDEX Istanbul has become the second-largest dental exhibition in the world. By further accelerating this momentum, we aim to contribute more to the Turkish economy through our production and export potential, as well as our direct contribution to health tourism revenues.”
Fatih Güler, President of the Turkish Dental Association, added:
“In a region affected by ongoing conflicts, bringing together such a large international audience in Istanbul and successfully organizing the world’s second-largest event in its field is no easy task. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this major organization. Currently, there are around 60,000 dentists in Turkey, and this number is expected to reach 100,000 in the coming years. We must start planning employment in this field from now. Turkey continues to develop and raise awareness in oral and dental health year by year.”
At the large-scale event organized by DİŞSİAD Congress and WINNOW Fairs, more than 150 SDE-accredited conferences and courses are being held. IDEX 2026, visited by faculties, oral and dental health centers, clinics, laboratories, dentists, dental technicians, dental students, and dental trade companies, is organized with the support of the Ministry of Trade.
